It is the responsibility of the Owner/Operator and its approved broker to determine, prior to applying for coverage, the options available under a specific state’s regulations. Action taken either to include or exclude coverage under a state law does not eliminate the need for specific action in additional states where the Owner/Operator may have workers’ compensation exposures. If an Owner/Operator elects or rejects officer coverage as a change to the standard state’s guidelines, certain forms may be required to be filed with some states and/or the insurance provider.
